Welcome to the OLED 16x2 character display product support forum!

The product link: http://store.nkcelectronics.com/OLED-16x2-character-display_p_202.html

Important Information

This OLED display does not require a backlight (pins 15 and 16; they are not used but are present in the header) and contrast control (pin 2 is not used, but it is there in the header), so the interface is limited to power supply and data / control pins.

This display works with both 8-bit and 4-bit interfaces.

We will be updating this welcome post with more important information.

We are currently testing again this display and will post information on how to make it work with any Arduino and Arduino derivative board.

April 19 2012: We are finishing the test. The display works with the standard Arduino LCD library in 8-bit mode. For 4-bit, it requires a different initialization sequence. We will post a library developed by Elco Jacobs. We tested this library running the OLED display in 4-bit and resetting the board every 60 seconds and it runs correctly without any glitch.

4-bit library download http://media.nkcelectronics.com/downloads/OLEDFourBit.zip

Instructions: download the library and place the content inside the Library directory in your Arduino installation.
